Artist Statement
As a Wood and soda-fired pottery artist, I am fascinated by the interplay of fire and clay, and the unique beauty that can be achieved through this process. My work is characterized by its bold colors, rich textures, and unpredictable patterns, all of which are a direct result of these atmospheric firing techniques.
Each piece I create is carefully crafted from clay, with a focus on form and function. I am inspired by the natural world, and often incorporate elements of nature into my designs, such as leaves, flowers, and other organic shapes. My pottery tells a story of artistry, fire, and the timeless connection between nature and clay
Artist Bio
I have been creating pottery for 10 years now. I have a BFA in Photography but it wasn't until moving back to Seattle in 2016 that I began learning and loving ceramics.
My work is for everyday use. Functional dinnerware, bowls, cups, mugs, and plates as well as decorative work for the home, vases to showcase fresh flowers from the garden, trinket dishes for jewelry. I built a backyard pottery studio during covid and am out there throwing and trimming pots nearly every day
