Theresa Neinas
Artist Statement
“I am a storyteller and I present a strong narrative in my work. I am drawn to the quirkiness of everyday life and am in touch with my dark nordic side from time to time. Like a book or a song, my work does not speak to everyone. That is not my intent. For those of you who are intrigued, I want my work to make you laugh, make you smile, and to move or touch you in a way that words cannot.”
Artist Bio
Theresa Neinas is a Seattle, Washington based artist who transplanted from the midwest at nineteen, she got on a train, headed west, and didn't look back. With $200 in her pocket, a pair of fry boots and a multicolored rabbit fur coat she settled in the PNW and has succumbed to its charms.
She started her education at Viterbo University and eventually received her BA in art at the University of Washington in 1990. She stumbled across block printing in 1995 and took to it. She has taught this medium around the PNW for many years and has shown locally and abroad.
