Artist Marketing Toolkit

Welcome! Here you’ll find some resources to help spread the word about the event. As the West Seattle Art Tour is a community-driven and volunteer-run event, all artists are expected to participate in sharing with followers, contacts and the general public to make this event a success!

Key Information

Official Event Name

West Seattle Art Tour

Event Date

Event Date: September 19 & 20, 2026, from 10 am to 5 pm

The Online Map

This year’s maps & printable materials can be found in the Take the Tour section of the website

Step One

Connect with The West Seattle Art Tour on Social Media

  • Follow us on Instagram and Facebook

    • Art Tour will follow back registered artists, so we can easily share their work leading up to the event.

  • Mark yourself as attending the official Facebook Event

    • (Please use this event rather than creating your own!)

Step Two

Share the Event & Promote Your Participation

We ask that artists aim for at least 3-4 posts in the lead-up to the event, on Instagram, Facebook, or other social networks you are active on.

Here are some ideas on what to post:

  • Start by letting your friends and contacts know you’ll be showing at the event and tell them to ‘save the date’. If you know the other artists at your site, tag them!

  • Share the official Facebook Event

  • As the event gets nearer, share sneak peaks of new work you’ll be showing or works-in-progress.

  • Meeting with your guest/host artists? Take a photo and be sure to tag the other artists.

  • Repost Art Tour content, such as your Artist Feature and the Interactive Map when it goes live.

  • A few days before the event, remind everyone of the key event details, including your location. We’ll send out a reminder to make this one easy!

  • On the day of the event, let everyone know that “Today is the day!” with pictures of your group setting up (or ready to go!).

Note: We’ve written these using capitalization, which does not affect the way a hashtag works, but does make it easier to read!

Art Tour Logos & Graphics

This year’s Tour has a selection of graphics you can use to help promote the event through your own social media and email. These include logos on transparent backgrounds that can be placed over photos of your work like the two examples to the right.

Other ways to get the word out

In addition to social media, here are some other ways to get the word out:

Your Network: Have a newsletter, blog, or other way you communicate with your followers? Let them know!

Ask friends to help spread the word: If you don’t use social media, chances are you have a friend (or many!) who would love to help promote your work. Ask if they’d be willing to share the event for you!

Your Neighborhood or Community Group: Be sure to let your block or neighborhood group know about the Art Tour! Last year’s event participants found that their neighborhood groups were happy to share the event (and appreciated the heads up.)

Yard Signs: Are you a host site? Be sure to put up a yard sign ahead of time so folks who walk your neighborhood regularly hear about it.

Posters: Need a poster for a community location to help advertise? Reach out and let us know!

Brochures: Do you have other events this summer? We have brochures for you to pass out! Contact us at info@westseattlearttour.org to pick some up.

The Map

This year’s map will be available on our website in early summer.

Closer to the event, you’ll want to start promoting the map and your specific site location.

When the West Seattle Art Tour Map and artist previews are up, they will be available on our website: https://www.westseattlearttour.org/take-the-tour
